ABOUT MINTTU
My Story
minttu illustrations is my heart project, my artistic voice, my inner comfort zone and autobiographical coping mechanism.
As minttu illustrations I create drawings and illustrations, which reflect observations and thoughts between political aspirations and social reality and represent corresponding points of friction. The focus of my artistic work is on dealing with topics such as social power relations, feminism, (in)visibility and a certain amount of escapism and mindfulness.
My works often appear cheerful and decorative, but open up - between slumbering big cats, plants and creatures in love - pressing questions about self-determination, solidarity and self-love to the attentive viewer.
It is this contrast between what is initially decorative and beautiful and the unnoticed discomfort and arising self-questioning that defines my works as minttu.

ABOUT ME
My Story
Behind minttu illustrations am I - Vanessa Mundle, freelance illustrator, graphic designer and artist based in Leipzig.
I have been drawing for as long as I can remember and, in addition to studying philosophy and neuroscience, I also spent a few semesters studying book art at an art college.
Besides drawing, I love colorful, empowering, critical things and have a strong weakness for beautiful paper, good books, dinosaurs, podencos and cat videos.
Furthermore I have always led a double life between art and political education – and whenever both areas meet and work together, very special results emerge.

COOPERATION
Whenever my own projects allow it, I work as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer with various projects, publishers and companies, for whom I create illustrations for books and editorials as well as advertising materials such as flyers, brochures, posters or infographics. I also like to do smaller private commissioned work such as portraits or personalized illustrations.
As an experienced political educator and trainer, I also offer the conception and implementation of workshops and am always happy about exciting new projects that combine art and politics.
